Since 2010, we have been involved with the Jack Petchey Foundation; a charity that focuses on improving the educational experiences of secondary school students throughout the UK.
Through the foundation, we have students participating in public speaking workshops and an awards scheme.
The Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme sees students nominate their peers for the good work they do in the academy and in the community. Each month, one student from the nominations list is selected to win the award; they must decide how the £200 prize money is to be spent. Already we have seen one tutor group visiting the Natural History Museum and another enjoyed a Comedy Writing Masterclass.
