Photography

Year 9

Students develop basic camera and photography skills including composition, cropping, layering, special effects and filters. They study personification of objects, symmetry, perspective, framing and macro photography.

Year 10

Students focus on the following areas; composition (viewpoints, rule of thirds, surrealism, golden mean), portrait use (montage, image duplication, complex layering techniques, staged photography, social realism and lighting effects) and colour (hues, saturation, special effects and gradients).

Year 11

Students focus on the following areas; evaluation, refinement, development and presentation skills. They complete a mock exam project on texture and complete their final exam project.
