We aim to provide an exceptional level of care with every child having an adult that knows them well and cares about them.
When a student joins us, they are placed in a mixed-ability tutor group of around 25 students to enable the Personal Tutor to know every individual and provide tailored care and support. The Personal Tutor is responsible for the academic and personal welfare and development of each student and oversees their Individual Learning Plan. All students have a daily Personal Guided Learning session in their Tutor Group; this includes a wide range of activities planned to develop students as both individuals and team members.
Each of the academy’s five year groups is overseen by a Year Leader. The Year Leader is responsible for tracking the progress of all the students in the year group, as well as monitoring their attendance and behaviour, and plays a key part in planning additional support.
