The Principal reports:

We have finally come to the end of the Year 11 exam season. I would like to congratulate all Year 11’s on the excellent attitude they showed throughout. I know that all students and staff alike worked incredibly hard, and we all now wait to see what the outcomes are in the summer.

We have recently enjoyed the Year 11 Prom at our new venue of The Officers’ Club in Colchester. As always, students arrived in their finery and there were some incredible modes of transport. All students enjoyed the evening and staff welcomed the opportunity to say goodbye to them.

The current Year 10 have picked up the baton of being the oldest role models in the school and with that have sat a series of mock examinations this week. Already this year group is impressing staff with their positive attitude to learning.

This is a busy time of year for the school. We have recently congratulated students at our annual Presentation Evening. It was lovely to celebrate the many successes that students have achieved throughout the year. Well done to all of those who won an award.

We’ve also welcomed our Year 6 students for their induction period. I was extremely proud of the way they all approached their secondary school visit. For some students this experience can be quite daunting, however, I know the students and parents alike appreciated all of the Super Saturdays we ran to ease the transition.

Students have also had the opportunity to attend recent trips to include a Year 10 Sixth Form Awareness Day, a Year 9 Duke of Edinburgh training walk, a Year 10 Geography trip to Walton and students have also represented the school at local dance and District Sports events. I would like to thank all students who represent the Academy so proudly.

Finally, we have our end of year Showcase on Thursday 13 July and our Sports Day on Friday 14 July. A busy few weeks for us all!
