The Principal reports:

Students at Colchester Academy have been celebrating successful GCSE results,  there were some stunning individual successes that now allow all our students to go onto their further education pathway. Top GCSE performers include Kaylee Boughton  (Grade 9 in Maths, 2 Grade 8s in English, five A*and three Grade As); Rebecca Dennis (achieved two Grade 8s, 7 A* and A Grades); Abbie Boswick-Pagani and Emily Rowley (acheieved outstanding progress; On average their grades were two grades higher than their target grades).

Students in Year 10 were also celebrating  their results in English Language, including Toni Akinsanya who achieved the highest grade possible, a Grade 9.  These results will provide Year 10 students with the confidence to approach Year 11 with greater motivation and focus.

I am delighted for all of our students and their families and my best wishes go to all of them for the future.

As we enter into a new academic year, we welcome our new Year 7 students, we currently have 156 Year 7 on roll. I am pleased to report that the school continues to grow; we have 10% more students compared to September last year.

We have a busy first half term with Open events (Open Mornings 20 and 22 September, Open Evening 21 September).

We have students participating on a Duke of Edinburgh expedition in September and have Music and Dance workshops planned.

I look forward to seeing you all throughout the year and working together to achieve the best for our young people.
