12 students complete their bronze Duke of Edinburgh qualifying expedition

On the 1 and 2 of July, twelve Colchester Academy students (and one from St Benedict’s High School!) set out to complete their Bronze Qualifying Expedition.

We travelled to Saxmundham in Suffolk and stayed at the beautiful Marsh Farm Campsite. Our group was assessed by Lesley West, Duke of Edinburgh Co-ordinator – Mid and North East Essex. She was impressed with how our groups worked together, their excellent navigation and their camp craft skills. At the end of the two days, all of our participants qualified.

We have twelve very impressive Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award Holders: Rebecca Dennis, Emily Rowley, Dansiga Navadas, Neve Saupe, Kaylee Boughton, Connor Simpson, Owen Stocking, Elise Lauenborg, Shauna Thompson, Byron Bullen, Harry Arnot, and Callum Batt.

Thank you to Diane Paton and Karl Balcombe for their continuing support.
