Wow, that was a busy few weeks in Food Technology!
This half term has seen our Year 11 Food Technologists complete their final products, as part of an all-day practical exam component of their GCSE. Following the four days of practical exams, I am confidently able to say that I was beaming with pride!
All our students exceeded their target grades within this practical context, demonstrating high levels of skills and competencies. We had home-made ice-creams that would give well-known brands a run for their money, themed celebration cakes, spun sugar, home-made jam and fondant icing, meringue, chocolate and sugar work…..the list is endless! I can safely say that it is after days like this that make me so proud to be a teacher. A huge ‘well done’ to my Year 11’s….now, onward and upward to complete the written coursework.
